Between September 7-9, 2022, EuroCC Romania – The National Competence Centre for High Performance Computing (HPC) has participated in the conference organised by EuroCC and CASTIEL in Montenegro, with the theme "Uniting Competences for a Stronger Europe."
Within the event, the first day was dedicated only to National Competence Centres (NCCs), focusing on working group meetings from every country. Topics ranged from presenting EuroCC and CASTIEL projects to the importance of the NCCs, their success stories, and their future.
The following two days were open to the public, covering topics from HPC, HPDA (High Performance Data Analysis), AI (Artificial Intelligence), machine learning, computational simulations, etc.
The conference reunited over 200 experts from 33 member countries of EuroHPC JU – Joint Undertaking for European High Performance Computing within the Horizon2020 program.
Within the European-funded project "National Competence Centers in the Framework of EuroHPC," ICI Bucharest laid the foundations of the Romanian National Competence Center - RoNCC in the field of HPC Infrastructure. The Romanian HPC Center created a network of competencies in HPC. It operates as an interface to facilitate access to resources and capabilities in this field, both in Romania and Europe, through the EuroCC network. The Center provides valuable resources for public institutions in Romania, educational institutions, users and providers of IT services, and other interested entities.
